Winter is my absolute favorite time of year to visit Disney’s Animal Kingdom! There is something for every member of my family in this park — I can’t resist Expedition Everest and the new Flight of Passage ride (seriously, you need to experience this one for yourself!) and the kids love the animal trails, safari and even the silly amusements in Dinoland USA.
Kilimanjaro Safari is a huge hit for us — my youngest has autism, so we use the DAS disability program (I covered this program in detail for Autism Parenting Magazine, here) Using the DAS, Olivia can stay in an oversized stroller right until the loading zone, which makes any wait go by very swiftly and prevents her from feeling overwhelmed, too. Once aboard, this is a favorite ride, with different animals to see each time we visit.
Note; if you have a family member with autism, you can score a free copy of Autism Parenting Magazine here. I am not only a frequent contributor, but a subscriber as well!
I’m sharing some of my favorite tips for touring the Animal Kingdom in winter and any time of year over on TripSavvy this week. Get the full scoop here and you’ll be able to hit all the highlights on your next trip to Disney.
